Optimum, Edison’s local provider of internet, mobile, TV, and phone services, is committed to supporting small businesses throughout Edison. Optimum Business and the Edison Chamber of Commerce have partnered together to directly fund 20 small businesses in Edison each with a $5,000 grant. Additionally, grant recipients who are new to the Edison Chamber of Commerce will receive a one-year complimentary membership for 2025 to further promote their development and help them build their networks.
Eligibility
To be considered for a grant, the Edison business must meet the following criteria:
The business must have a brick-and-mortar location in Edison, NJ. Not a home-based business, or a virtual company.
The business must have 10 or fewer full-time employees. (2 part time employees equal one full time employee).
The business must demonstrate in the application that the funding will both help them expand their business as well as improve our community.
The business must agree to be included in promotional materials for the Grant, as well as when the project is completed to illustrate the success of the program.
The business must agree to a background check.
Applicable Grant Use
The Grant funding will be administered by the Edison Chamber and given to no more than 20 small businesses who demonstrate through the following brief application that a grant of $5,000 would help them both expand their business and contribute to the prosperity of Edison.
The funding will be distributed in January 2025 and must be utilized by March 31, 2025.
Examples of funding requests could include (but are not limited to):
New signage that promotes their business.
A marketing plan or website that helps them acquire new customers and increase patronage at their location.
New landscaping outside, or remodeling inside that helps improve the customer experience.
A consultant that helps them improve their business (such as an accountant, IT or marketing professional) that will enable their future success.
Application Deadline
The Edison Chamber of Commerce will ensure that a qualified sample of judges will evaluate and score each applicant in a non-discriminatory and equitable manner.
Each business that chooses to be considered must complete the following application and submit it by December 6, 2024. Every question must be answered to be considered for a Grant. The Chamber will not be accepting any questions via phone call, or email.
